Rikert Outdoor Center Code of Conduct

Rikert Outdoor Center is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and enjoyable experience for all visitors. To ensure the protection of our trails, facilities, and the natural environment—as well as the well-being of all guests—we ask that everyone adhere to the following Code of Conduct.

Respect for the Environment

  • Remain on designated trails and obey all posted signs and trail markers.
  • Do not disturb wildlife, vegetation, or natural features.
  • Carry out all personal belongings and dispose of waste responsibly. Leave no trace.

Trail Use and Safety

  • Follow all posted trail rules, including direction of travel, trail closures, and activity-specific access.
  • Operate within your ability level and adjust your speed and behavior based on weather, terrain, and visibility.
  • Yield to others when appropriate, and remain alert and in control at all times.
  • Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult on the trails.
  • In the event of an emergency, dial 911 and notify a staff member as soon as possible.

Community Conduct

  • Treat fellow guests, staff members, and volunteers with courtesy and respect.
  • Abusive, discriminatory, or disruptive behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
  • Refrain from loud, inappropriate, or unsafe conduct that may interfere with others’ enjoyment of the Center.

Sustainability and Stewardship

  • Help us minimize waste by bringing reusable water bottles and limiting single-use items.
  • Respect all efforts to maintain and protect the landscape, including any trail maintenance or grooming operations in progress.
  • Do not enter areas marked as closed or under restoration.

Prohibited Activities

  • Pets are not permitted on the property.
  • Smoking, alcohol, and illegal substances are strictly prohibited.
  • Unauthorized motorized vehicles, drones, or commercial activities are not allowed without prior approval.

By visiting Rikert Outdoor Center, you agree to uphold this Code of Conduct. Failure to comply may result in removal from the premises and/or loss of access privileges.
