For many winters, Eastern skiers flocked to Pomfret, Vermont for a classic ski race with historical winners since 1986. The Haydock’s welcomed racers into their home, cherishing the both community and a love for classic skiing in a low-key, friendly environment. For nearly forty years the event persisted despite Mother natures whims.
In 2023 the torch was passed from the Haydock’s to the Rikert Outdoor Center with the goal of preserving the nature of this race, with the added benefits of a snowmaking system. And so the event goes on — and is a favorite for old schoolers and up and coming rippers alike.
