Rikert Outdoor Center is located in the heart of the Green Mountain National Forest. Come ski, snowshoe, or ride a fatbike on our 55+ km of trails.
Find old growth hemlock trees, moose tracks and bear claw marks on Beech trees. (No worries – bears sleep during the winter). Enjoy the fresh tracks and beautiful surroundings of this amazing region.

Race Course Maps
The Tormondsen Family Race Trails offer eight homologated courses, including: sprint, individual and mass start options. The courses were improved and re-certified in 2025 to International Ski Federation (FIS) standards on our five kilometer race network, which is fortified with an extensive snowmaking system. Rikert is one of 32 trail systems within the United States with this accreditation, and one of only a handful with robust snowmaking infrastructure. The trails were designed by legendary developer John Morton and allow Rikert to host major Cross Country Ski competitions such as the NCAA Skiing Championships. Rikert is home to the Middlebury College Nordic Ski Team.
