The Middlebury College Ski Patrol

The Middlebury College Ski Patrol is one of the most unique and longest-running collegiate patrols in the country. Aside from its Director and Assistant Director, the Patrol is staffed entirely by trained and dedicated Middlebury College students. This professional and medically certified organization is recognized by the National Ski Patrol and Vermont EMS.

At Rikert Outdoor Center, Ski Patrol provides first response medical care, trail safety and hazard mitigation, and ambassador support for guests and staff. Whether it’s assisting with minor injuries, responding to emergencies, or helping to maintain safe conditions on the trails, the Patrol plays a vital role in ensuring a safe and welcoming Nordic skiing experience.

While Patrol also supports operations at the Middlebury Snowbowl, their presence at Rikert is an important part of our commitment to guest safety. Patrollers are happy to answer questions about trail conditions, route suggestions, or safety concerns. You can reach them at the ticket desk inside the lodge, or by asking any staff member to contact Patrol via radio. In case of emergency, you may also call 802-443-7613.
